STEPS Survey Coordinator

Major duties and responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to health system & reproductive health research directorate (HS&RH RD) of EPHI, STEPS Survey PI, and technical working group of the STEPS Survey,
• Provide the necessary technical and supervisory support for STEPS survey during protocol development, data collection/analysis and technical report writing,
• Consult in protocol development including designing the methodology and questionnaire development.
• Ensure that the appropriate authorities at different levels are aware of the survey to facilitate to the field work in advance,
• Coordinates and supports the survey team in the field, to apply data quality assurance on data received during field work, coordination of data entry in the server and ensures quality of the data, troubleshoots on issues like HR, IT; coordination of logistics and finance; involve in supportive supervisory visits to the field,
• Facilitate the organization of events, meetings and discussion forums , training, workshops and events related to NCD STEPS survey,
• Assist the implementation of pre-test as per the schedule.
• Coordinate  in training of field staff and supervise field work.
• Undertake central level oversight of field work to validate supervisor reports and data quality.
• Check for data consistency and produce tables and analysis results as per program for results requirement.
• Assist with technical report writing.
• Assist in further analysis and manuscript preparation.
• Prepare a  weekly/monthly report to inform all stakeholders of key accomplishments   and outstanding issues,
• Accomplish other assignments provided by HS&RH RD.

Job Requirements

• At least master degree in relevant discipline for public health,
• Experience in leading, coordinating & managing national level health related surveys,
• Demonstrated research communication and interpersonal communication skills,
• Proven track record of scientific publications in health research,
• NCD STEPS survey, DHS experience is an advantage,
• Familiar with  existing health policies, strategies and plans of the country,
• Demonstrated ability in disseminating research findings with different outlets,
• A minimum of ten years professional work experience
