OTN Engineer

ABH partners would like to invite applicants who meet the below requirements to apply for the position of  OTN Engineer  ( Also commonly called `digital wrapper,` OTN - or Optical Transport Networking - is a next-generation, industry-standard protocol that provides an efficient and globally accepted way to multiplex different services onto optical light paths). to be assigned in a prominent international Telecom Company.

1. Major Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for the network provisioning, installation, commissioning, and PAT.
• Provide engineering support during the installation and turn up of OTN network elements.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and database information for the OTN networks.
• Adept at fully understanding and following advanced oral and written instructions
• Ensure all corporate policies and procedures are followed and contribute to company strategies and plans
• Provide recommendations/suggestions for quality improvement and work efficiencies.

2. Technical Skills and Abilities

• Proven ability to engage with and communicate with customers, vendors, service providers, employees, and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.
• The ability to work “on-call” and off-shift hours as required to support network and Equipment maintenance, upgrades, and service interruptions.
• Proven problem solving skills with experience and background in solving complex design and network issues.
• Qualified to operate, access, and maintain applicable software applications
• Capable of providing high productivity and quality workmanship while remaining detail-oriented
• Exercise competent judgment and initiative in executing his or her responsibilities

Job Requirements

• Two years of experience performing as a network engineer 
• Bachelors of Science Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or Telecommunications is desired.
• Knowledge and background with fiber optic transmission and transmission systems, and electrical cabling and transmission systems.
• Proven problem solving skills with experience and background in solving complex design and network issues.
• Display excellent planning and organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize
• Efficiently research, troubleshoot and provide solutions to job-related items
• Willing to expand your knowledge, be challenged and grow in a dynamic and upward trending environment
• Demonstrates the ability to think pro-actively with excellent problem-solving skills
• Good management skills (preferred)
• Analytical skills (desirable)
