Greek Community School is one of the leading schools in Addis Ababa that has served the community for more than a century. We are seeking experienced candidates to fill the following positions.
Job Summary
The Principal is outright responsible for managing the GCS with full autonomy. He/she oversees the entire range of educational services, ensuring a safe learning environment and setting performance goals for both students and teachers, and overseeing the process to ensure that the Association's mission is met.
Key Responsibilities and KPIs
- Ensure and enhance the quality of education with the collaboration of the concerned parties.
- Ensure that school facilities remain safe for students and faculty and plan regular maintenance of school grounds and equipment.
- Assure the overall quality of education and make sure the Cambridge system is running smoothly in close collaboration with the Academic Coordinator.
- Delegate the academic coordinator in the event of an absence or for matters requiring distilled expertise.
- Oversee the recruitment of students for the Greek Section and ensure required inputs are allocated for the smooth running of the program.
- Oversee daily school operations.
- Manage school logistics and budgets.
- Set learning goals for students and teachers based on the approved curriculum.
- Monitor and report on teachers' performance.
- Present data on school performance to the GM
- Take the initiative to develop new resources and techniques to improve teaching
- Interview and hire school personnel
- Review and implement school policies
- Give guidance and counseling to teachers
- Handle emergencies and school crises
- Provide job descriptions and make a contractual agreement with each staff member that is found under the reporting relationship.
- Prepares job descriptions for newly formed positions.
- Plan school functions and assemblies.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for students (e.g., by implementing hygiene rules).
- Attend conferences to gain knowledge of current educational trends.
- Performs other duties as directed by the supervisor.

Job Requirements
Qualifications
- MA/MSC/BA/BSC in Educational Administration/ Management/ Planning
Experience
- A minimum of 10/12 years of related teaching and educational administration experience is required.
Skills, knowledge, and abilities
- Knowledge of school administrative processes and national educational regulations
- Practical experience with Microsoft Office and other educational management systems
- Proven leadership skills
- Attention to detail
- Great presentation and communication skills.
- Crisis management
- Ability to coach and inspire
