High School V/Director

Greek Community School is one of the leading schools in Addis Ababa that has served the community for more than a century. We are seeking experienced candidates to fill the following positions.

Job Summary

The vice director of the high school is in charge of overseeing educational standards. He or she is responsible for managing the timetable for delivering instruction, liaising with teachers, resolving complaints from parents and students, and assisting the Director in ensuring that all aspects of the teaching and learning process are efficient and engaging.

Key responsibilities and KPIs

• To ensure the maintenance of discipline throughout the school and enable smooth day-to-day running, especially in the preparation and implementation of the teaching schedule.
• To assist the Director in the supervision and evaluation of staff.
• To always communicate any occurrences, especially serious offenses, to the Director on a daily basis.
• Responsible for covering classes if necessary, teaching some lessons when staff or the director are absent.
• To assist with the pastoral care of pupils, attending to any personal and social needs
• Together with the coordinators, they oversee the IGCES program and all school examinations and deal with any relevant correspondence on a regular basis.
• To help encourage and sometimes participate in curriculum development and practical training workshops.
• Attend staff meetings, assisting the Director in the chairing of these meetings or other relevant extra-curriculum activities such as the Graduation Ceremony.
• To liaise as necessary with parents/guardians and outside agencies offering support and advice as required.
• To work collaboratively with colleagues as part of a professional team, working at all times within the school’s policies.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

• MA/MSC /BA/BSC in Educational Planning/ Management/ Administration/ Leadership, Administrative sciences

Experience

A minimum of 10/12 years of related teaching and educational administration experience is required.

Skills, knowledge, and abilities

• Knowledge of school administrative processes and national educational regulations
• Practical experience with Microsoft Office and other educational management systems
• Proven leadership skills
• Attention to detail
• Great presentation and communication skills.
• Crisis management
• Ability to coach and inspire
