Job Responsibilities
- Real-time monitoring of drilling activities.
- Sample collection, cleaning and drying, and preparation of water base mud or oil base mud acquired samples.
- Description and organized recording of samples and lithology.
- Description of formations (fracture, porosity) and possible intrusions.
- Evaluate cuttings to check for borehole stability and helps with drilling optimization.
- Proper sample depth recording and lag time.
- Create and update logs and written reports for client representatives. (Daily Report, Weekly report, End of good report, and Geothermal Logs as per client requirement)
- Mineral classification in geothermal wells.
- Alteration analysis on common hydrothermal alteration minerals (i.e. but not limited to: zeolites, pyrite, chalcedony, quartz, epitode, sphene, actinolite, wairakite, prehnite).
- MeB clay analysis: Draw conclusions on Clay analysis (MeB) on site.
- Identifying casing points at suitable formations.
- Identifies and suggests additional samples for petrographic and XRD analysis
- Contributing to maintaining a safe working environment on the rig, by interpreting the data at hand and giving feedback to the Surface Logger Senior, drilling team and client representative.
- Main point of contact for geological strategies in the wellsite and continuously communicate and discuss intentions, plans, and concerns to the teams on the wellsite.
- Data correlation and decisions. Analysis of offset logs and new drilling data to correlate the current well.
- Links the gap between geology and drilling operations in real-time.
- Maintenance of assigned rig and equipment.
- Assist in rig up / rig down of Mudlogging unit.
- Assist fellow Mud loggers, Data Engineers when needed.
- Comply with all quality, health, safety, and environment procedures set by GEOLOG and the client to ensure a save safe working environment.
- Must be Fluent in English Language, reading, and writing
- Microsoft office suite user
Job Requirements
- Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Geology
- Minimum Years of rig site Experience: 10 Years
