Main Purpose
Define, adapt, plan and supervise the implementation of human resources policies in the organization, ensuring they are in line with the context, the operational challenges, and the strategic HR.
 Main responsibilities
- Ensure that professional and consistent recruitment practices are managed in a way that attracts and retains the highest caliber of candidates.
- Establish effective systems, regularly monitored and reported on to Senior Management Team; empower and enable HR team to deliver.
- Ensure that talent is well managed and retain high performers by careful planning, performance management, and monitoring of contract end dates, and potential gaps/development opportunities. Instill and influence line managers to proactively encourage their teamâs development.
- Ensure that the HR administration is effectively managed in a legally compliant and confidential manner.
- Ensure data protection is complied with and personnel records are maintained to a high standard.
- Champion organization valuesâ ensure that these are communicated, understood, and embedded in the culture.
- Support managers to respond appropriately to employee issues.
- Ensure all personnel-related policies are in line with Ethiopian legislation.
- Work closely with the Senior Management Team in the salary and benefit revision process as required.
- Monitor and ensure that the Performance Development Review of the Human Resources team is properly conducted.
- Ensure exit interviews are conducted and feedback is regularly monitored for exiting staff
- Ensure staff changes are effectively communicated to payroll.
- Monitor and ensure that the performance management mechanisms are effective throughout the organization.
- Ensure the induction and onboarding experience of new joins.
- Responsible for managing staff benefits in accordance with the organizationâs HR Policy
- Manage employees contract
Team Management
- Provides advice and technical expertise to the Senior Management Team, in order to design job profiles, organizational charts, and decision-making channels.
- Ensure the proper implementation of the Performance Management System (PMS) throughout the Organization,
- Define, approve and/or coordinate the implementation of career development programs to high potential collaborators in order to increase long-term commitment and contribution.
- Supervise administrative processes for all staff and manage conflicts when they appear, in order to ensure labor legal compliance.
- Provides expertise to Coordinators and supervisors on how to manage HR in different HR aspects (team management, conflict management, job descriptions, org charts, communication lines, âŚ)
Job Requirements
- Minimum B.A. degree in Management, HR, and/or Business Administration
- At least 10 plus years of relevant HR experience and understanding of HR in the emergency set-up is desirable out of which 3 years of a management position experience
- Development of best practice HR policies and systems that support the achievement of Dugdaâs goals.
- Knowledge of HR, a good understanding of Development organizations
