Main purpose

Overseeing and analyzing cost expenditures and purchases within the organization. Review services and goods, record data and make recommendations about cost-efficient and financially feasible cost options.

Job description

• Developing cost standards for materials and labor
• Designing and implementing cost accounting systems
• Analyzing production costs and recommending changes
• Overseeing annual physical inventory
• Analyzing manufacturing operations, equipment availability, and utilization
• Performing month-end cost accounting close
• Maintaining a cost accounting system and cost ledger
• Reconciling job order, production, and delivery notes
• Performing life cycle cost-benefit analysis
• Analyzing inventory valuations
• Monitoring unit cost variance
• Implementing cost standards for materials and labor
• Preparing cost of goods sold and production reports
• Reconciling beginning raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished-goods stock
• Preparing all inventory-related journal entries at month end
• Defining various product and operational costs
• Developing depreciation schedules

Job Requirements

• Minimum BA Degree in Accounting
• At least 8 plus years of relevant experience in the Manufacturing industry out of which 3 years of a senior-level experience
• Knowledge of construction, Manufacturing, and or production sector is a plus.
