Data Analyst

The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), re-established by proclamation No. 1133/2019, is the constitutionally mandated body to conduct elections, organize referendum and regulate political parties in Ethiopia. NEBE is undergoing institutional reform to enhance its credibility and capacity and conduct free, impartial, and credible elections. Through the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), NEBE has contracted ABH Partners to provide human resource recruitment and management services.

Accordingly, ABH partners would like to invite applicants who meet the below requirements to apply for the position of Data Analyst.

2. Reports to: ICT Manager
3. Duty station: NEBE Head Quarter, Addis Ababa
4. Duration: 12 months with a possibility of extension
5. Salary:  Attractive (Non Civil Service Scale)

Purpose of the Role

Collects, analyses, and stores data and uses it to help to make better decisions.

Major Responsibilities

• Managing master data, including creation, updates, and deletion.
• Managing users and user roles.
• Provide quality assurance of imported data, working with quality assurance analysts if necessary.
• Commissioning and decommissioning of data sets.
• Processing confidential data and information according to guidelines.
• Helping develop reports and analysis.
• Managing and designing the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata.
• Supporting the data warehouse in identifying and revising reporting requirements.
• Supporting initiatives for data integrity and normalization.
• Assessing tests and implementing new or upgraded software and assisting with strategic decisions on new systems.
• Generating reports from single or multiple systems.
• Troubleshooting the reporting database environment and reports.
• Evaluating changes and updates to source production systems.
• Providing technical expertise in data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor`s degree in computer science, software engineering or related fields.
• 4+ years of experience in data base management systems like MS SQL and backend development frameworks like .NET, PHP (Laravel).
• Work experience as a data analyst or in a related field.
• High-level experience in methodologies and processes for managing large-scale databases.
• Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases.
• Understanding of addressing and metadata standards.
• Ability to work with stakeholders to assess potential risks.
• Ability to analyze existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations.
• Ability to translate requirements into non-technical, lay terms.
• Advanced understanding and experience on Microsoft Office applications with special focus on Excel.
• High-level written and verbal communication skills.
