Job Description
Purpose of the Job:
To enhance the financial and operational performance of the Company by managing and implementation of financial recording, analysis, reporting and management system that provides accurate and current information for better decision making, and supports efficient management of cost, working capital and investments.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in the development, revision and implementation of cost effective financial management and accounting systems in accordance with accounting principles and business requirements.
- Manage the enterprise performance management system development, implementation and improvement.
- Participate in the annual budget preparation of the Company
- Prepare annual financial plan of the Company indicating schedule of cash inflows and outflows and identifying the best way for financing projects, and prepare long term financial forecasts in relation to developing future strategies for the Company.
- Effectively implement and manage Company financial policies and procedures and ensure relevant government regulations are understood and duly observed by all concerned.
- Comply with tax and other regulatory and prudential requirements and guidelines, and ensure timely and accurate payment of all tax and pension obligations to the concerned organizations.
- Ensure transactions are properly recorded and books of accounts are balanced, and authorize records of transactions and the opening of general and subsidiary ledger accounts.
- Prepare periodic financial statements and management accounting reports to reflect product, work unit and Company performance.
- Effectively manage collection of incomes (sales, fees, levies, rent and other funds due to Ahadu) as well as timely payment to creditors and suppliers.
- Prepare accurate bank reconciliations for all Company accounts.
- Participate in the development of Departmentâs strategic plan and objectives and lead in their implementation.
- Prepare and implement the Departmentâs budgets.
- Take part in the identification of human resources requirements of the Department and develop plan for meeting the requirements and develop future leaders for key positions.
- Prepare and submit Departmental reports
- Coach and mentor staff within custody.
- Evaluate the periodic performance of his/her subordinates.
Job Requirements
- A degree in accounting and finance field of study and Masters in related field
- A minimum seven yearsâ experience in the financial field and minimum three years in managerial level will be required to gain a Finance Manager role.
- Negotiation skills and the ability to develop strongâŻworking relationship
- Commercial and business awareness
- Good communication skills â both written and verbal
- Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
- Solid proficiency in financial planning software.
