Plan International Ethiopia is looking for MEAL Coordinator for Healthy Village Project for Amhara Program Area, based in Bahir Dar who will be reporting to the Healthy Village Project Manager.
Dimensions of the Role
Financial measures or statistics relevant to post such as budget list of direct and indirect reports.
The post holder will have responsibility for the planning, management, operation, coordination and regular monitoring of Healthy Village project to be implemented in Amhara PA (Meket, Seqota, & Lay Gayint districts) & Ofla from Tigray Region and support these integrated WASH, Food and Nutrition Security Project to ensure all donor and government reports are submitted on time.
Accountabilities
- Ensure all project planning, monitoring and evaluation processes meet and comply with external accountability requirement and standards.
- Works closely with the Project Coordinators, Community Development workers and CO MEAL team to establish MEAL system in accordance with the project requirement.
- Participate in all trainings which will be organized by the Project Coordinator to ensure the quality of the training together with the Project Coordinators prepare RESA reports.
- Closely work with partners to monitor their progress.
- Prepare Partner agreements as required.
- Together with Project Coordinators monitor progress of all construction works for quality assurance.
- Ensure all donor and government reports are submitted on time.
- Support the Project Coordinators during trainings through providing technical and administrative support including photograph taking etc.
- Organize monthly review meetings with Project Coordinators.
- Responsible for the setup of Management Information System, to systematically collect, store and analyze output and activity information.
- Ensure equal participation and benefit of adolescent boys and girls and children with disabilities in all phases of project implementation.
- Provide information on project learning and monitoring data to inform during the preparation of annual work plans.
- Ensure project management is gender transformative.
Job Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, Behaviors, and Experience Required to Achieve Role`s Objectives:
Education, Qualification and Knowledge.
- Bachelor`s Degree in monitoring and evaluation, project management, development studies, and other social sciences.
- Minimum 4 year`s substantial experience in managing corporate system for Planning, monitoring, evaluation and Learning activities.
- Excellent English written and verbal skills
Knowledge
- Awareness of integrated WASH, Food and Nutrition intervention approach plus environmental health issues with special with attention to the needs of women and children
- Experience of leading M & E for integrated WASH, Food & Nutrition projects implementation and working in partnership
- Experience in capacity building of partners and staff.
- Experience in conducting baseline, mid term and end line evaluations for WASH related projects
- Experience of linking WASH interventions with health and nutrition projects.
- Demonstrated experiences of KAP assessments design and analysis.
- General finance, administration, information management and proficiency in information technology/computer skill.
- Strong proposal writing, planning and programme designing and also coordinating skills
- Ability to deliver quality programs in a short term and work under stressful conditions.
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods in a field setting
- Proven ability to work in a team environment and independently.
- Excellent written, verbal communication skills in English and Amharic.
