The Operations Manager provides leadership, support, and oversight of all operations-related activities in the Samaritan’s Purse Ethiopia, Tigray field office. Ensures effective and efficient implementation of programs by leading a quality team of operations specialists. Areas of responsibilities include overseeing procurement, storage, inventory, fleet management, communication, facilities improvement, assigned programming activities and the associated budgets with each of these areas, and collaborating directly with the Area Coordinator and Country Office senior leadership (especially the Senior Operations Manager) on the development of strategies to enhance the value and cost-effectiveness of all outcomes within the functional area of operations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Samaritan’s Purse policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

COMPETENCIES
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in Logistics/Transportation Management and one (1) to two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in project management, business administration, public administration, logistics, supply chain management, communications or related field. Previous experience working overseas is required. Experience in cross-cultural team leadership, including managing multiple programs and large diverse teams, is strongly preferred. Twelve credit house of college-level Biblical studies is strongly preferred.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but employees may be exposed to loud noises around maintenance and construction worksites. May be required to travel and work in difficult conditions and under pressure.
