Job Description
Maxbridge is looking for an experienced and self-motivated librarian to join our team. As a librarian, you will perform a range of duties such as cataloging library resources, maintaining library records, managing budgets and planning book sales. For this position, the librarian has to demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills, as a great part of the job will involve interacting with the trainees, students and staff. The ideal candidate should also possess in-depth knowledge of library database systems, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Search standard reference materials, including on-line sources and the Internet, in order to answer patrons' reference questions
- Analyse patrons' requests to determine needed information, and assist in furnishing or locating that information
- Collect and catalog library resources including books, films, and publications.
- Help people locate reference and leisure reading materials.
- Maintain library records and ensure it is updated
- Perform regular audits of the information and inventory on file.
- Review and evaluate resource material, such as book reviews and catalogs, in order to select and order print, audiovisual, and electronic resources
- Code, classify, and catalog books, publications, films, audiovisual aids, and other library materials based on subject matter or standard library classification systems
- Locate unusual or unique information in response to specific requests.
- Direct and train library staff in duties such as receiving, shelving, researching, cataloging, and equipment use
- Provide customer service for library users
- Help library users check out books
- Keep a budget to repair, replace or get new reading materials
- Oversee a team of assistant librarians and library aids
- Delegate tasks among staff to maintain a productive work environment
- Catalog new inventory and update the database accordingly
- Research new reading trends and popular genres to add to the library
- Order new inventory from book supply companies
- Perform other administrative and financial duties related to Maxbridge as assigned by the Admin and Finance Coordinator.

Job Requirements
Requirements:
- At least college diploma
- At least 1 year of experience on related field
- Advanced proficiency in managing documents, spread sheets, and databases
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing.
- Proficiency in English, Amharic and Oromiffa languages is desired
