Job Description
The Registered Nurse systematically and continuously collects and assesses data in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to provide therapeutic care to the patient and/or family. He/she performs all required elements of a nursing assessment including but not limited to physical examination, assessment of readiness to learn, psychosocial assessment, functional assessment, and utilization of patient/family specific assessment scales as required.
The Registered Nurse is an active member of the multidisciplinary team and collaborates in the development, execution, and evaluation of the multidisciplinary plan of care or critical pathway. The Registered Nurse considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, and cost in planning and delivering care. The Registered Nurse's decisions and actions with patients and families are determined in an ethical manner.
Major Responsibilities
- Develops nursing care plans that meet the individualized needs of the patient;
- Prepares and administers medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians;
- Knows action and side effects of the medication administered at designated times;
- Accurately observes, reports, and records any complication;
- Be aware of the five right (right medication, right patient, right route, right dose, right time);
- Handoff effectively oral and written reports/information to each work-related staff;
- Handover must take place in the presence of all staff;
- Makes daily rounds, recording and reporting progress on the nursing notes;
- Adheres to policies and procedures of the Health Care Services;
- Knows and complies with policies and procedures which have been developed by AASRGH
- Responsible for safety and welfare of clients through proper implementation of nursing procedures;
- Follow Universal Precautions and Infection Control guidelines;
- Implement accurately the precautions and guidelines;
- Readily assists in all activities of the unit;
- Consistently demonstrates professional attitudes and manner including confidentiality;
- Professional in appearance and relationships with staff and patients;
- Demonstrates flexibility in recognizing and participating in 24-hour staffing if the need occurs;
- Complies with work rules, regulations, and instructions, follows established systems and Procedures, and completes assignments with minimal supervision;
- Participates actively in the growth and development of nursing personnel through monthly staff meetings, daily reports, nursing rounds, and staff development meetings;
- Collect sample, send to the laboratory, and collect the result on time;
- Report to the head nurse or the person in charge about any damaged patient room equipment or working instruments;
- Be knowledgeable regarding fire and disaster plans;
Job Requirements
- BSC in Nursing from an approved nursing institution.Current Registered Nurse (RN) from the country of origin.
- Certificate in BLS and ACLS training.
- Knowledge in Infusion Pump utilization and calculation.
- Knowledge of using a dialysis machine
- A minimum of five years of experience in the general care ward is preferable.
- good communication skills.

- good observation skills.
- Language: Fluent in English (oral & written).
