Role Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the HR director, the post holder is expected to meet the quality standards of child safeguarding and PSEA at the country office.
She/he will be responsible for contextualizing child safeguarding and PSEA policies materials facilitating training for various groups, conducting a risk assessment of projects mainly the humanitarian response, receiving and managing reported child safeguarding and PSEA concerns, establishing friendly reporting mechanisms for beneficiaries, and organizing different learning forums on child safeguarding and PSEA practices. She /he is also responsible on monitoring standard practices of sectors across all locations, reporting, data maintaining, share learning.

Dimensions: Save the Children works in all regions of Ethiopia with a current staff complement of approximately 1600 and a current expenditure of approximately $80+ million each year.

Key areas of accountability:
- Contextualized child safeguarding and PSEA policies, local reporting procedures, guidelines, training manuals, publications, and related tools with the country's local context for staff beneficiaries and partners.
- Organizing and facilitating child safeguarding and PSEA awareness for staff, volunteers, beneficiaries, and other representatives.
- Identify high-risk programs, conduct risk assessment, identified mitigation strategies, and record, monitor, and update the status of the identified risk in collaboration with program managers and focal persons at the field level.
- Organize annual child safeguarding focal persons and Champions meeting to share learnings.
- Organize learning forums on child safeguarding and PSEA practices at different levels.
- Share updated child safeguarding and PSEA messages and reporting procedures to child safeguarding focal persons at field offices.
- Ensure a system is in place for reporting, responding and appropriate support is given to senior managers on child safeguarding incidents based on the local procedure and global guidance on abuse and exploitation as required.
- Receive child safeguarding and PSEA concern reports and facilitate case management.
- Follow up on volunteer recruitment process of projects and ensure the proper documentation is kept in the database/record in collaboration with HR and project manager.
- Conduct focus group discussions with children and adult beneficiaries on safe programming and reporting.
- Ensure child participation policy/ guideline is in place to make sure children's participation in events, media, and communication technology does not put children at risk.
- Compile and submit monthly reports on child safeguarding and PSEA activities to the regional child safeguarding director.
- Compile partner's support documents, analyze partner risk assessment results, and support identified gaps.
- Participate in the kick-off meetings and related forums and networks.
- Represent the organization internally and externally on any child safeguarding and PSEA-related issues and ensure technical support is provided for regional and global offices as required.
- Take additional assignments as demanded by the supervisor.

Job Requirements
- Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in social sciences and four years proved experience in child protection, education, and social work. Child safeguarding and other related filed.
- Experience in facilitation and coordination of training and workshops
- Experience in conducting an assessment, monitoring, and report writing
- Practical experience on child participation in the intervention of program activities.
- Strong computer skills, including the use of email, internet, and Microsoft office
- Fluency in written and spoken English
Desirable
- Experience in child safeguarding and PSEA
- Experience in humanitarian response programs
- Skill in illustration design and publication
- Speaking and writing the local language
