Key function, accountabilities and related duties/tasks
30% Collaboration
- Take a lead role in supporting the coordination, and collaboration with other organizations in Ethiopia that are involved in similar or complementary programming
- Reach out to research partners (especially USAID/FTF-funded research) to look for areas of shared learning objectives and ways to enhance SPIR programming through newly gathered evidence (example: ILRI research on small livestock, etc.)
35% Learning
- Contribute significantly to the formulation and implementation of a detailed program-learning plan/ learning agenda, and manage associated learning partnerships and processes.
- Facilitate learning events, such as reflection sessions, interactive presentations and small group discussions, roundtable discussions, and synthesizing and communicating results effectively to the CLA Lead.
- Serve as a key link between the CLA and programme teams to ensure that Evidence and Learning is promoted as a key tool in project management and designing of implementation approaches.
- Research and stay abreast of ongoing studies or innovations in related fields that could be applicable for SPIR (bringing in learning and experiences from other forums, countries, etc.)
- Support and provide supplemental analysis and data visualization of qualitative and quantitative research and M&E data, prepare reports and presentations for learning events.
- Support and help to facilitate a learning culture within the SPIR team.
25% Adaptation Ā
- Bring evidence and documentation from routine monitoring data, special studies, constituency voice feedback, program pilots, etc. to propose changes in implementation strategies or partnerships
- Document and support documentation of program changes/adaptations through 'pivot logs'
10% Knowledge Management
- Lead the creation and management of a detailed knowledge management platform, ensuring full integration with other relevant knowledge management platforms.
- Capture tacit knowledge and experiential learning during staff transitions.
- Work closely with the projectās communications specialist to support production of case studies, best practices; success stories, and lessons learned for internal and external use
- Train team members on CLA in addition to ensuring peer-to-peer learning, knowledge sharing and application, activity-based capacity strengthening, evidence and data utilization within the team.
Job Requirements
Work Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in developing organizational learning, communications, and/or data analysis and knowledge management.
- Experience implementing CLA and KM tools, approaches and best practices, preferably in the field of nutrition, livelihoods and resilience, on USAID awards.
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis, visualization, use and reporting.
- The candidate must be professionally proficient and fluent in written and spoken English.
Qualification required
- BA/BS or above in Agriculture, Development Studies, International Relations, Economics, Social Work, Food Security, Health and Nutrition, or related field.
Other Skills
- Ability to translate complex data into easily understandable learning products.
- Ability to analyze monitoring and evaluation and other programmatic data and synthesize findings as learning for programmatic use.
- Strong facilitation and relationship management skills, including convening groups of people from diverse technical areas and backgrounds for successful CLA engagement.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
Travel and/or Work Travel up to 25% of the time.
Language Requirements: Fluent in English.
