Job Description

Job Summary:

As a member of the Peacebuilding team, you will monitor and report on all project activities in support of Catholic Relief Services (CRS) work serving the poor and vulnerable. You will be responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, reporting, and documentation of peacebuilding activities. Your thorough and service-oriented approach will ensure that the project consistently applies best practices and constantly works towards improving the impact of its benefits on those we serve.

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Support conflict analysis and peacebuilding needs for CRS intervention.
  • Support peacebuilding and conflict management concept notes and proposal developments for internal and donor funding.
  • Support implementation of CRS Ethiopia peacebuilding activities in line with CRS program quality principles and standards, donor requirements, and good practices.
  • Support preparation of high-quality reports as needed by the local government, donors, the region, or headquarters.
  • Identify capacity-building needs and provide peacebuilding training as required for staff, beneficiaries, and partners.
  • Ensure proper utilization of the project budget as per the DIP in line with CRS and donor financial guidelines and procedures.
  • Develop tools/ methodologies to successfully mainstream peacebuilding into different CRS programs and projects.
  • Develop/adopt a standardized peace-building curriculum for the different target audiences in collaboration with partners
  • Provide any support to the peacebuilding, protection, and partnership program unit as may be requested by the supervisor.
  • Ensure the creation of a strong partnership with the government Universities, local partners, and other organizations involved in peace-building activities.

Job Requirements

Typical Background, Experience & Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • BA or Master’s Degree in Conflict Studies, Political Sciences, Development Studies and International Relations, Law, Social Sciences.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in peacebuilding programs
  • Experience and skills in networking and relations with donors, government, and other peer organizations
  • Able to work on a high level with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • A previous experience in international NGOs is a strong advantage
  • Fluency in at least two local languages is an advantage

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment with good interpersonal skills
  • Observation, active listening, and analysis skills with the ability to make sound judgment
  • Good relationship management skills and the ability to work closely with local partners and community members
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness in executing assigned responsibilities
  • Proactive, results-oriented and service-oriented

Required/Desired Foreign Language: English

Travel Required (50% field travel as per the demand)
