Job Description
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing the core and auxiliary systems of the Bank under the IT department
- Coordinate and lead the activities of the division
- Ensure the availability of the Bank’s core and auxiliary system from the IT side
- Manage the smooth running of the daily operation of the systems through proper monitoring and follow-up
- Ensure that the Bank’s operational requirements are achieved through parameterization and customization
- Ensure that the second level support provided to different organs of the Bank are based on standard time and quality
- Ensure Incidents, events and problems are handled properly
- Communicate with the Bank’s technology providers so as to maintain the Bank’s interest
- Escalate Applications related issues logged to vendors to the appropriate officials of the vendor whenever the supports are not up to SLA.
- Coordinate the management of the Bank’s technological implementation i.e. Configuration, customization, patch or release update and migration (if required) and new product development
- Manage Functional and Regression testing around the Bank’s auxiliary system’s application
- Plan, direct, and manage all aspects of application management and development activities within the division and in collaboration with vendors
- Manage the core and auxiliary systems performances and resolve issues timely in production, UAT and other environments
- Manage and follow annual support and maintenance process of the Bank’s systems
- Ensure that the Bank’s solution/Applications are designed to address the Bank’s future growth need in terms of scalability
- Manage the smooth running of the daily operation through proper monitoring and follow-up of the systems
- Assist Information Technology Management group in the evaluation, review & recommendation of existing & new technology products, applications and solutions consistent with the IT Strategy aligned with the business needs and requirements of the organization. (including hardware, standardization and corporate initiatives as needed)
- Ensure Incidents, events and problems are handled as properly and promptly
- Work in collaboration with other IT professionals to successfully provide comprehensive technical services and maintain deliverables to effectively support the bank’s mission, vision, and values realization
- Follow all the issues which are logged to vendors are in line with the SLA and ensure that all issues beyond the team are properly logged
- Anticipates Core Banking application and Auxiliary systems problems and implement preventive measures
- Ensure the development of management information reports and dashboard using business objects, crystal report and other applicable tools and their availability to user organs of the Bank
- Develop and implement policies and procedures related to the Bank’s core and auxiliary application systems of the Bank
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
Education and training
- MSc/MA/BSc in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related fields of studies
Experience
- 7 to 9 years of relevant work experience in core Banking and auxiliary systems support out of which 3 years as senior application development and customization officer or as senior system administrator or equivalent with
- Implementation and management experience of Core Banking and auxiliary systems Software
- Demonstrated expertise in managing banking applications management processes
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Technical and Behavioral competencies like Decision Making, Communication ..etc.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Outstanding communication abilities
- Extensive industry knowledge with an eye towards the future.
