Role Summary
To develop the organizational effectiveness and people strategy which drives the outcomes required to support the business in achieving breakthrough results.
The role will cover both managing 'business as usual' HR activities as well as the HR integration lead role to effectively transition Meta into BGI and introduce and embed BGI people policies and practices. This will include a large change management component to effectively transition from remote based management to performance driven on site placement.
Duties & Responsibilities
Top Accountabilities:
- Provide leadership in shaping the talent agenda for Meta and providing strategies for attracting and retaining the best talent in market.
- Leading the organization redesign to drive organizational effectiveness and efficiency to enable the delivery of business performance and the growth potential of META;
- Lead the creation of performance and compliance culture where we effectively engage with our employees to deliver on our ambition.
- Design and implement HR processes, systems and structures to enable the organization to deliver brilliant HR service and be fully compliant with BGI standards and local legislation.
- Design and implement a new leadership structure. Support the leadership team in its journey to be a high-performing team who inspires employees to deliver for the business
- Develop and embed of long term reward strategy which is competitively positioned and enables Meta attract and retain the best talent in market, Lead and develop a fully capable, fit for purpose, compliant, efficient and commercial HR function.
- Build brilliant relationships, engagement and communication with our employees and with key stakeholders to create an environment where our employees feel valued by BGI and our employee relations environment is positive and respectful.
Leadership Challenge and Responsibilities:
- Effective business leader able to understand the total business strategy and contribute to its delivery both through their function and more generally, as a key member of the Meta Leadership Team.
- Effectively lead the organization redesign as well as the cultural change for Meta over next 2/3 years.
- Excellent coach — able to create a supportive and inclusive environment where we grow and develop great talent.
- Great leader of the HR function able to inspire and motivate the HR team to deliver exceptional performance. Ability to create an environment that recognizes and celebrates individual, team and organizational success.
- Drives a commercial HR agenda that is highly focused on driving the business Demonstrates the ability to face reality and take tough decisions which focus on cost, effectiveness, service and people to deliver sustainable growth. Managing organization headcount and overheads within budget.
Job Requirements
Required qualification
- BA Degree level qualification in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Business Management, and other social related fields
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a broad range of HR roles including operational roles which require technical/functional expertise and HR roles which have a strategic role in the business.
- Preferably experience in working across supply and demand.
- Experience of being an active part of an executive leadership team is essential.
- Experience of working in more than one geography and across different cultural environments.
- Proven experience in managing larger organizational change projects
- People oriented and result driven
- Knowledge of HR systems and databases
- Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
- In-depth knowledge of the Labor proclamation and HR best practices
Barriers to Success in Role:
- Inability to connect and build positive relationships.
- Lack of cultural awareness/empathy
- Lack of functional expertise in technical HR area e.g. contracts, payroll, pensions, reward etc. · Inability to effectively manage change and deal with ambiguity
Flexible Working options:
- Role is based in Sebeta, but there might be the end to work across sites owned by BGI Ethiopia.
