Purpose statement
Head-Food Service will be responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing staff and management canteen food service; Ensure proper menus are used for food production; ensure the food meets the taste and quality requirement; provide food service to the staff, management and guests; plan weekly fresh items and monthly stock items and request purchasing to procure timely; inspect quality of food items and cooked meal; Ensuring compliance with hygiene and health and safety guidelines.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure the efficient and professional operation of the food services unit.
- Ensuring compliance with company standards in all areas of operations.
- Ensure proper menus are used for food production.
- Ensure all resource for food production are in place, on time, stock is controlled and kept as per the standard.
- Ensuring compliance with hygiene and health and safety legislation/guidelines.
- Design and propose mechanize to collect & measure customer satisfaction.
- Manage and oversee the availability of lounge spaces and ensure drinking water and refreshment stands are adequately stocked and maintained.
- Propose changes required to upgrade the food services.
- Ensure that all statutory elements of Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) are implied.
- Prepare canteen reports on time and with the required details.
- Propose new ideas and participate in the development of food service manuals.
- Initiate cost saving initiative and share proposal to the Manager – Admin Services.
- Lead and supervise his/her direct reports.
- Ensures that a smooth relation is created with the concerned offices such as supermarkets and other suppliers.
- Supervise the day-to-day performance of subordinate, and conduct performance appraisal of his/her direct reports.
- Receives employees’ complaints and resolve them.
- Perform other duties as required by the office.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- BA degree in Hotel Management, Hotel & Tautism Management, Food Nutrition or any related field of study with a minimum of five years of services in the hotel environment, staff canteen service, restaurants out of which two years as F & B Head/Supervisor, Head Food Service or equivalent capacity.
